Who we are
Munich Today is a calendar of things to do in Munich and the surrounding region. This policy explains what personal data we process and why. Data controller: [operator legal name], [registered address]. Questions or requests: oeldorf.consulting@gmail.com.
Browsing without an account
You can browse events, open the calendar, download an event as an .ics file, and subscribe to public calendar feeds without signing in or giving us any personal information.
If you sign in
Signing in uses your Google account. With your consent, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us, which we store to identify your account. We also store the events you save and your preferences so your plan is available on every device.
Legal basis: performing the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your consent for Google sign-in (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
Analytics
We measure how the site is used with a first-party, cookie-less approach: a random anonymous identifier is kept in your browser's storage, and we record interactions such as which events are viewed or saved. This is not linked to your identity and is not shared with advertising networks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the product (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Event issue reports
If you report a problem with an event, we store the event, the reason you selected, any details you write, and your optional email address if you provide it. We use this to verify and improve listings, and may contact you about the report if you gave an email address.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of processors under data-processing agreements: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and image storage), and Google (sign-in). Event listings and images are gathered from public third-party sources; visiting an organiser or venue link takes you to a third party with its own policy.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account, after which it is removed. Anonymous analytics and event issue reports are retained only as long as needed for product analysis and listing quality.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, and request portability. To exercise any of these, email oeldorf.consulting@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
