The free Markt der Ideen turns the Theresienwiese into an alternative Christmas market running daily from 24 November to 23 December. Around 180 stalls sell handmade crafts, fair-trade goods and certified-organic international street food across heated tents and open lanes. Opening hours are from 2pm on weekdays and from 11am at weekends, and admission to the grounds is free. Live music, walkabout artists and a children's programme run alongside the market throughout the festival.
