Indien
A staged reading of the 1993 tragicomic road-movie script, performed by its Austrian creators Josef Hader and Alfred Dorfer.

Why go
Josef Hader and Alfred Dorfer return to the two feuding bureaucrats whose road trip through provincial Austria made "Indien" a cult hit in 1993, reading it aloud from the original script rather than staging it fully. It is one evening of dry Austrian comedy that slowly turns tender as the pair's bickering gives way to friendship and mortality. Presented in cooperation with the Münchner Lach- und Schießgesellschaft, it runs about two and a half hours in German. A good pick for anyone who enjoys sharp comic writing and two performers who know this material inside out.
