König Roger
Szymanowski's rarely staged opera runs 90 minutes without interval amid the Egyptian galleries.
Why go
Karol Szymanowski's opera König Roger is staged inside the underground galleries of the Egyptian art museum, drawing on a Sicilian-Norman tale and Euripides' Bacchae. The production blends impressionist, expressionist and orientalist colours across a single 90-minute act with no interval. Tickets are sold through München Ticket. The premiere is on 29 August, with further evenings running into mid-September.
