A rhythm-led evening from Munich drummer Guido May and his working band, built on grooves drawn from Africa and the Americas: Afro-Cuban patterns, Brazilian beats and a heavy funk pulse. This edition features British alto saxophonist James Morton, known from The Herbaliser and work with Angelique Kidjo and Tony Allen, alongside trumpet, keys and bass. Good for anyone who likes their jazz danceable and warm rather than cerebral, in the intimate basement setting of the Unterfahrt.
