Why go

Udo Wachtveitl, Munich's long-serving Tatort detective, marks Oskar Maria Graf's 132nd birthday by reading the Bavarian writer's village stories — farmers, publicans and outsiders, including scenes of a village's rightward drift from the novel Unruhe um einen Friedfertigen. Maria Hafner and Theresa Loibl thread the readings with songs of love, longing and death gathered from street bands, pubs and old shellac records. The foyer bar opens at 6pm; tickets (20 or 10 euros) are sold out.
