Die Gewehre der Frau Carrar / Würgendes Blei
Brecht's Spanish Civil War one-acter paired with Björn SC Deigner's commissioned sequel on war and complicity, as a double bill.

Why go
In an Andalusian fishing village in 1937, Teresa Carrar has forbidden her sons to join the fight against Franco's advancing troops — Brecht's short play asks whether neutrality is possible when violence closes in. Björn SC Deigner's «Würgendes Blei», written for this production, carries her story into the present and puts war and its instruments on trial. The double bill runs 85 minutes without an interval.
