Business Terms

Last updated: 8 July 2026

What these terms cover

These terms apply to Munich Today's paid business products: the embeddable “What's on in Munich” widget (including kiosk mode) and the events API, including its free Developer tier. They sit alongside our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. For consumers browsing munich-today.com, only the general terms apply.

Licence — what you may do

With an active subscription (or trial) we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to display the widget on the websites and screens of the properties covered by your plan, and — for API plans — to use the event data within the products your plan covers. Event facts(dates, times, venues, prices) are yours to use freely; Munich Today's editorial texts, summaries, and classifications remain our copyright and may be displayed through the product but not resold or republished as a dataset.

Third-party images referenced in the data are the property of their owners. We pass their URLs through without granting any licence to them; if you redistribute data, exclude them or clear the rights yourself.

Attribution

Plans without white-labelling — the widget Starter plan and the Developer and Standard API plans — must display “Events by Munich Today” with a working link to munich-today.com wherever the data or widget appears. Plans that include white-labelling (widget Pro and Group; API Commercial by agreement) may remove the visible attribution; the underlying licence notice in API responses stays in place.

Trials, billing, and cancellation

Widget trials run for 30days with full features and no payment method on file; when a trial ends without a subscription, the widget pauses — nothing is charged. Paid plans bill monthly in advance through Stripe, with VAT handled automatically and invoices issued per EU rules. You can cancel any time from the billing portal; the licence runs to the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice, effective from your next billing period.

Data quality and availability

We collect events from public sources daily and apply editorial quality control, but event details change at short notice and we cannot guarantee completeness or accuracy — always assume the organiser's page is authoritative. The service is provided without a formal uptime guarantee; we operate it on the same infrastructure as munich-today.com and fix problems promptly. API rate limits per plan are described on the developer page.

Fair use and suspension

Don't circumvent rate limits, share keys across organisations, scrape the site instead of using the API, or use the data to build a competing events database. We may suspend keys that do, after contacting you where practical.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to intent and gross negligence, and for simple negligence to the breach of essential contractual duties, capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for the events themselves, for third-party content, or for indirect damages.

The boring but honest note

These terms are a good-faith draft and may be updated as the product matures; material changes are announced by email to the account address with 30 days' notice. German law applies; place of jurisdiction is Munich. Questions, custom licences, or anything unclear: hello@munich-today.com.

Anonymous usage statistics?

We'd store two random identifiers in your browser to count which events get looked at — first-party only, no ad tech, no third parties. Everything works either way. Details
